Amare's Big Planet guide
Numbers & Counting
Learn to Count 21 to 30
Join Amaré and the Gear Crew as they make counting from 21 to 30 fun, musical, and easy to remember for young learners.
Counting beyond 20 is a big milestone for young learners. Once children reach 21, they begin to see the repeating pattern in numbers — and that’s when counting really starts to click. Amaré’s Big Planet makes this leap feel exciting and completely natural.
What kids can practice
- Counting 21 to 30
- Number recognition
- Pattern in the number system
- Counting confidence
- Early maths skills
Why counting beyond 20 matters
Numbers 21 to 30 are where children discover the logic behind the counting system. They start to understand that 21 is “twenty-one”, 22 is “twenty-two”, and so on. This pattern recognition is a foundational maths skill that will carry them through addition, subtraction, and beyond.
How songs make number learning stick
Music gives children a rhythm to anchor numbers to. When a number is sung the same way every time, the brain creates a strong memory path for it. A child who has heard “twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three” in a song dozens of times will recall those numbers far faster than one who has only seen them on a page.
Simple ways to practise at home
Count stairs, steps on a walk, grapes at snack time, or jumps on a trampoline — starting from 21. Pause the video after each number and let your child say the next one. Once they know the song, challenge them to count to 30 with their eyes closed. Every small win builds real confidence.
